Better Earth Cuisine

* Better for You.

* Better for the Community.

* Better for the Planet.

Better Earth Cuisine intentionally creates community through healthy food under the guidance of Ingrid Hirtz, Your Community Cook.

Ingrid Hirtz Better Earth Cuisine Your Community Cook

I am your community cook. That’s something like a personal chef for a group of people who eat similar foods.

My community of customers likes food made from scratch with fresh, nutrient dense ingredients, mostly organically grown and  of local source if possible. Therefore, I use a great variety of plant based ingredients, such as vegetables, legumes, whole grains, nuts and seeds and a wide range of spices and herbs.

My customers tell me that eating such a spectrum of plant based food helps them with health and weight issues and they enjoy the richness of flavors.

I love feeding people. It is a very personal thing for me to make the food you eat and I feel privileged to provide it to you.

It makes my life meaningful to contribute to your well being and enjoyment by making healthy foods tasty and fun to eat.

There is a more serious side to my love of feeding people. I am acutely aware of how many people in our city live in food insecurity.

As many as one out of seven seniors, one out of four children may go to bed hungry on any given day in the our beautiful Valley of the Sun. I believe that most people are interested in improving this grueling statistic that consists of many individual tragedies, but may not know how.

On my search for a way to engage in a solution, I became intrigued by the concept of the “One World Everybody Eats Café”.  I believe our awareness needs to grow to shift from a problematic situation to one that works, so I started such a community café myself. This Café is a place to practice new attitudes towards food that allows us to to address the issues of hunger, food waste and health in a new way. I see the Community Café as a place where one comes to eat not just to satisfy one’s appetite, but also take an active part in our community.

My invitation to you is to participate in what I have to offer in any way that meets your needs.
